American Physical Society Awards at the Willard Intercontinental

This year there were three awards given but let me tell you I almost cried listening to the official medal recipient. She spoke of her life long experiences being one of only a few women physicists. Not only highlighting her struggles to be taken seriously in a male dominated arena but of her personal and professional triumphs. It was inspiring to say the least.

2019 APS Medal Award

This is the fourth year I’ve photographed this event and it keeps getting better. Everyone was so intensely involved in conversation I was loathe to disrupt them. There was an exciting energy in the room that I had not experienced in previous years.
