Wave and Particle at School 33 Art Center

Wave and Particle at School 33 Art Center

So, my friend Scott Pennington and I went to school together at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Whereas I pursued photography, he has since gone on to create amazing installations with light and color. You may have seen his work at Artscape, Light City, the Transmodern Art Festival or various galleries around Baltimore. I'm a huge fan, so when his wife, the curator Melissa Webb,  called to request images of a show he was participating in, I, of course, said yes. I so enjoyed exploring each of the artists works in the gallery. Just me and my camera and the light from the installations.

NetCraftsmen obtained a new office space in 2016 in a recently renovated modern business park in Columbia. They wanted artwork for their walls that fit the design of the space in time for their Grand Opening. They specifically requested local art by local artists and I knew just what they were looking for. I reached out to some women photographer friends of mine to scour their archives and submit personal images. The company board members selected images from an online gallery and I then had thirteen 24X36 metal prints made to be hung throughout the space. This was all accomplished in less than a month and I personally hung all of the pieces days before the Opening date. I had never done anything quite to this scale before but I'm pretty proud of the end result. I think you'll recognize some of my work as well as some pretty iconic locations in Baltimore and DC.
